The Beaver

The Beaver stars Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster and Anton Yelchin as a family struggling with the effects of mental illness. Gibson plays Walter, a man who is so depressed he is just a shell of a man who spends much of his time sleeping. After a failed suicide attempt he starts to communicate using a glove puppet, The Beaver. This has mixed results in that he turns things around at work and his home life improves but inevitably this can't last forever. Excellent performances by all involved and it's actually a very good film despite the odd premise. I really think Anton Yelchin is a great young actor and one to watch.
