Tower Heist

I just saw Tower Heist which stars Ben Stiller, Alan Alda, Eddie Murphy, Tea Leoni and Casey Affleck in a Brett Ratner directed film about a heist carried out on a, you guessed it, tower! It's silly fun which could have been ridiculous but stayed just the right side of that and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The premise is that The Tower is an exclusive building with wealthy tenants where the staff are basically at their disposal 24/7. The chap who lives in the penthouse is accused of defrauding people of millions and this includes the staff of the Tower who decide to get their money back by finding his stash of cash. Very funny!

In Time

In Time stars Justing Timberlake living in a time where everyone lives until they are 25 when they stop ageing and a clock with a year starts ticking, counting down to the time they die at 26 unless they earn time. They also need to spend it to live. He meets a rich heiress played by Amanda Seyfreid after his Mum runs out of time and dies and starts being a kind of Robin Hood; stealing from the rich and giving to the poor with her help. Cillian Murphy also stars as a Time Keeper (a policeman effectively). It was very enjoyable although felt a little long.

The Ides of March

The Ides of March stars George Clooney, Ryan Gosling and Phillip Seymour Hoffman in a film about a political campaign of a governor in his bid to become president. I fell asleep for a while at the start but guess I must have seen at least the last hour which was very good! Maybe one for me to watch on DVD when I'm more awake!!
