Thor
Well, what to say about Thor?! I loved it and so did my friend. It stars Chris Hemsworth, an Australian actor, as Thor as well as Anthony Hopkins as his Dad with Kenneth Branagh directing, Natalie Portman is also in it. I didn't realise it was part of the whole Marvel SHIELD/Nick Fury/Tony Stark malarkey until they mentioned a couple of the above. It was a really good fun film with a fab turn by Hemsworth as Thor, very funny in places and very enjoyable to watch him for a couple of hours cos he's a good looking chap! It did just what it seemed like it'd do from the trailer and is well worth watching!

Country Strong, The Lincoln Lawyer, Submarine, Limitless, Source Code
Wow, I've been slack at updating this! Five films I've missed!! Okay, so better crack on then. Country Strong stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Kelly Canter, a country singer who has been having some personal problems and gone into rehab. Here she meets Beau, played by Garrett Hedlund, who she starts up a relationship with before her husband checks her out of rehab and onto a comeback tour; Beau joins them to help keep her sober. Leighton Meester is also in it as Chiles Stanton, another singer who aspires to be like Kelly (presumably without the troubles though!). The songs are fab as is the singing - who knew Leighton Meester could sing like that! Garrett Hedlund has a gorgeous voice and I've already downloaded a couple of the songs from this soundtrack. The film was pretty good too although it did make me cry. The Lincoln Lawyer stars Matthew McConaughey as Mick, the lawyer who works out of a Lincoln car. It's just what you expect from the trailer and was very enjoyable with a creepy Ryan Phillippe as the bad geezer. Submarine - the less said the better I think. It was a bit too bleak for me but perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for it. Limitless stars the beautiful Bradley Cooper alongside Abbey Cornish and Robert De Niro in a thriller about a man who is given a pill to take that unlocks all of his brain so he is the best possible version of himself. A great idea that was well executed and very enjoyable. Source Code stars Jake Gylenhaal as Colter Stevens, an army pilot who finds himself in another mans body living out the last eight minutes of his life on a train that's going to be blown up. He gets to re-live those eight minutes to try to locate the bomb and bomber. During these attempts he spends time with Christina (Michelle Monaghan) who is with him on the train and uncovers information not only about the bomb but about himself too. This was a gripping action thriller that was ultimately very enjoyable.
